You might have a love-hate relationship with this Cereal Milk strain review. On one hand, this hybrid strain that hit the market in the summer of 2019 has been receiving rave reviews from cannabis fans and you’ll be happy to try it if you get the chance.
On the other hand, the Cookies Fam isn’t putting these genetics out to the public just yet, so plenty of places besides California won’t be seeing Cereal Milk on the shelves and you can forget about growing it just yet. Still, this new-age strain has serious promise!
Cereal Milk Strain Genetics
The Cookies Fam has done it again! They created this evenly balanced hybrid by crossing Y Life and Snowman, leaning further into their proprietary Cookies genetics.
Y Life is a strain created by Cookies that results from crossing their GSC genetics with Cherry Pie. Some people may recognize this lineage as Birthday Cake, sometimes labeled as Wedding Cake.
Knowing that Cookies have their phenotypes and generations of GSC means that Y Life is probably a bit different than Birthday Cake as a strain, however.
If Y Life wasn’t enough of an influence from the GSC family of strains, then Snowman will be a pleasing surprise. Snowman is just a sativa dominant phenotype of GSC.
It is said to have a relaxing head-centric experience that boosts creativity and mood without an overwhelming sense of sedation.
Availability Of Cereal Milk Genetics
Finding Cereal Milk seeds and clones is near impossible at the time of writing.
This is partly because the strain just went public in the summer of 2019 and it takes quite some time for breeding groups to test the market and decide whether a strain should be mass-produced or not.
Another factor is that Cookies Fam simply aren’t allowing the general public to have the Cereal Milk genetics as seeds or clones right now.
Diving down the rabbit hole of the internet led to some leads for Cereal Milk seeds, but those would be from different breeding groups that happened to cross Y Life and Snowman themselves to create the same lineage as Cereal Milk.
There is no telling if those seeds would be anything like Cookies has put on the shelves.
Being less than 2 years old means that this strain hasn’t even reached close to its peak of popularity, let alone being used to create new child strains to take advantage of traits that growers and/or consumers love.
The first goal is to get Cereal Milk on dispensary shelves across the nation and getting seeds available for growers. Then, maybe we can talk about derivative weed strains.
Cereal Milk Strain Yield
The difficulty of growing, preferred environment, and yields aren’t known for Cereal Milk. We do know that GSC makes up 75% of its genetics, with Cherry Pie making up the other 25%.
We also know that Durban Poison strain is half of Cherry Pie, meaning that interlinking traits between the parent strains should lead to yields similar to GSC overall. It’s all speculative at this point, but when seeds become available, knowing its close relation to GSC will surely help growers out!
Yet again, another mystery with Cereal Milk.
We do know what the buds look like at maturity. The heart-shaped nugs are oversized and feature mint and olive green tones throughout the bud.
Some yellow hues pop up in the cured buds while the orange hairs mingle among the dense coating of frosty trichomes that give the appearance of a crystallized sugar coating.
Cereal Milk Strain THC Percentage
Cereal Milk clocks in around 18-25% THC typically. This evenly balanced hybrid weed strain delivers an evenly balanced experience that can be enjoyed day and night.
The high hits with an uplifting bliss that clears your mind of negativity quickly. Some users feel enhanced focus for hours on end when consuming Cereal Milk. The physical effects and calming and soothing without sedation.
Flavor & Aroma
The aroma has a bit more herbal spice to it than the flavor. The aroma also features sweet berries and fruity. The flavor is more like creamy sugar and berries, akin to the milk leftover after finishing off the cereal.
Cereal Milk has tested high in Caryophyllene, Myrcene, Limonene, and Pinene.
Caryophyllene is the spicy presence on the aroma. It helps combat inflammation and is rich in marijuana strains like Purple Punch and Original Glue.
Myrcene delivers calming and relaxing effects. Blue Dream and OG Kush are classic examples of Myrcene-dominant bud strains.
Limonene brings the fruity and sweet profile to Cereal Milk while helping fight stress and anxiety. Wedding Cake and White Fire OG are rich in Limonene.
Pinene brings the herbal essence and wards off pain, inflammation, and anxiety well. Critical Mass and Big Smooth are unique strains that are dominated by this terpene.
If you like what Cereal Milk offers, in terms of effects and its terpene profile, you can find similar strains as suitable replacements, such as Animal Mints, Grapes N Cream, and White Tahoe Cookies.
Medical Conditions This Pot Strain Can Help
Cereal Milk is quite a new cannabis strain, so it hasn’t taken off in the medical marijuana industry yet. However, there are still fans of this new strain and proponents claim it can alleviate:
- Loss Of Appetite
