Orange Cookies Strain

This Orange Cookies strain review will be looking at what the breeder known as Obsoul33t has put together with his venture Franchise Genetics.

One thing to keep in mind is that there are quite a few alternate strains that carry the name Orange Cookies too, which can lead to discrepancies when consuming and/or growing this marijuana strain.

Let’s weed through the confusion and find out what Orange Cookies has to offer!

Orange Cookies Strain Genetics

Is Orange Cookies Strain indica or sativa?

Obsoul33t and Franchise Genetics are responsible for bringing this iteration of Orange Cookies to the public. There are many other Orange Cookies strains out there, but their genetics differ, so we won’t be looking at those in this strain review.

This version of Orange Cookies is a 60/40 indica dominant resulting from crossing Orange Juice and GSC.

Orange Juice

Orange Juice, also known as OJ Kush, is produced by Gage Green Genetics. It emits a wonderful orange and lemon diesel essence that delivers a balanced experience. A relaxed body and an uplifted mental state are commonly associated with Orange Juice Kush,

Aside from Orange Cookies, it has spawned other orange-dominated bud strains like Grape Juice OG (Orange Juice x Grape Ape), Orange Sizzurp (Orange Juice x Grateful Breath), and Orange Apricot (Orange Juice x Apricot Helix).

Girl Scout Cookies

GSC doesn’t need an introduction, as this potent and pungent strain is on every single dispensary shelf and almost all cannabis consumers have already experienced GSC at some point. This award-winning strain pleases growers with good yields and consumers with its dessert-like essence and enjoyable effects.

Plenty of strains have spawned from GSC, including Wedding Cake and Sherbert. It also has a few famous phenotypes, including Thin Mints strain and Platinum GSC.

Availability Of Orange Cookies Genetics

Orange Cookies from Franchise Genetics is hard to find in seed and clone form. That means growing this specific version of Orange Cookies is next to impossible at the time of writing this strain review.

Other breeders have seeds available, but examining the genetics reveals entirely different strains. For example, Orange Cookies from Lineage Genetics is a cross of Sonic’s Orange and Cookies & Cream, aka a completely unrelated strain!

If you are lucky enough to score seeds and/or clones of the real OJ Kush and GSC cross, purchase them immediately and enjoy your rarity!

Derivative Strains

Orange Cookies has produced a few offspring of its own, which is surprising, considering the difficulty in finding seeds and clones to grow it.

Orange Push-Pop, Powdered Donuts, and Orange Sundae all spawn from Orange Cookies, but it is difficult to say for sure that they use this specific version of Orange Cookies. Obsoul33t has used Franchise Genetic’s Orange Cookies to create other strains, including Alien Orange Cookies.

Orange Cookies Strain Yield

The lack of widespread growing ability with Orange Cookies means that growing data is relatively unavailable for this strain.

We know that Orange Juice produces yields of around 1.3 ounces per square foot of plant when grown indoors and upwards of 15 ounces per plant outdoors.

We also know that GSC produces yields around an ounce per square foot of plant indoors and upwards of 10 ounces of bud per plant outdoors. Logically, we can assume that Orange Cookies produces around 1-1.3 ounces of bud per square foot of plant indoors and 10-15 ounces of bud per plant outdoors.

Orange Cookies Flowering Time

The flowering period for OJ Kush is 8-9 weeks and it is 9-10 weeks for GSC, so we can assume that Orange Cookies flowers for about 9 weeks to reach optimal maturity. Again, growing data is limited for this rare strain, so we can only make educated guesses at the time of writing this strain review!

We do know that these ultra-dense buds are medium in size. The mint green buds are covered in fiery orange hairs and chunky milky-white trichomes boasting the cannabinoid content of Orange Cookies. This bud is also quite rich in resin, making it a great choice for concentrate production.

Orange Cookies Strain THC Percentage

Orange Cookies is a middle-of-the-road cannabis strain that tests between 12-24% THC. At the lower end of this range, beginners can enjoy the terpene profile while being able to easily handle the high.

At the upper end, experienced smokers can enjoy the experience without consuming massive amounts of bud just to feel it. Realistically, if you scale the THC content with your rising tolerance, you can enjoy Orange Cookies from day one to years later!

The high is balanced and easy-going. It isn’t like hard-hitting strains that can cause paranoia and anxiety. Instead, the experience builds in the mind, causing happiness and euphoria. The body-high aspect is relaxing and carefree. You are free to enjoy Orange Cookies at any time of day!

Orange Cookies Flavor & Aroma

The aromatic profile is reminiscent of fresh tangerines, with sweet citrus dominating the smell and taste. On the exhale you may sense some earthy sourness and/or doughy cookies as well.

Terpene Profile

Orange Cookies is rich in Terpinolene, Myrcene, and Caryophyllene.

If you can’t find Orange Cookies locally, try other strains that offer similar terpene ratios and effects, such as Super Silver Haze, Pineapple Jack, and Chernobyl.
