Orange Creamsicle Strain

In this Orange Creamsicle strain review, we’ll be looking at one of the sweeter, fruitier cannabis strains currently available.

Instead of aiming for the dessert-like market of baked goods-based cannabis strains (Cake, GSC, etc), the breeders of Orange Creamsicle took a crack at matching one of the most memorable dessert flavors from probably all of our childhoods: the orange creamsicle frozen dessert!

Does it live up to its name or is it more hype that is commonly seen with specialized cannabis strains nowadays? Let’s find out!

Orange Creamsicle Strain Genetics

MTG Seeds gets the credit for creating this child-strain from two flavorful cannabis strains themselves: Orange Crush and Juicy Fruit.

Orange Crush offers consumers an ultra-sweet and tangy essence while delivering a head high with uplifting effects.

Juicy Fruit, which is also known as Fruity Juice, is a cross of Afghani and Thai landraces and is known for its 50/50 shot at a good experience. Sometimes, paranoia and headaches are common and other times it produces a long-lasting high that boosts energy and creativity levels. It’s also tangy and sweet, with hints of lemon, plum, and tropical fruits.

The resulting strain Orange Creamsicle is a balanced hybrid marijuana strain that produces an even high between the head and the body. Some phenotypes lean more towards indica, while others lean towards sativa.

You must get the right strain if you are planning on growing Orange Creamsicle. MTG Seeds occasionally has seeds in stock, and you may be able to find seeds or clones elsewhere as well.

Since seeds are available for prospective growers, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this ultra-sweet cannabis strain be used as a parent-strain to create a more potent but still flavorful child-strain. Perhaps you have learned how to grow and breed marijuana with our training here at CTU and will be the one to bring a new and exciting child-strain to the cannabis world!

Growing Yield

This ganja grows like a typical sativa, with towering plants that can reach heights that require a ladder. It is commonly grown both indoors and outdoors.

Indoor growers need to ensure that they have the vertical space available to cater to Orange Dreamsicle. Topping is a good idea as well.

For each square foot of plant, you can expect to get around 1.2-1.6 ounces of bud. Indoor growers will harvest bud towards the lower end of that range while outdoor growers will be blessed with huge harvests if the climate plays nice.

Orange Creamsicle Strain Flowering Time

While labeled as more of a sativa, Orange Dreamsicle has a relatively quicker flowering time of about 50-65 days, depending on the growing environment.

At maturity, the buds will be medium-sized and forest green in color. Their shape tends to be almost cylindrical. The bright orange hairs and frosty-white trichomes imitate the orange cream popsicle almost perfectly. But, that’s the not only reason that it was named Orange Creamsicle!

The true feature of this ganja strain is the flavor and aromatic nature of Orange Creamsicle that brings marijuana users from all walks of life back for more!

Orange Creamsicle Strain THC Percentage

Orange Creamsicle clocks in around 15-18% THC. It isn’t a home run hitter, but the potency is enough for most of us to enjoy without inducing couchlock or excessive drowsiness.

The high creeps up slowly and hits the mind with euphoria before leeching into the body for a complete feeling of relaxation without feeling tired. This ganja provides a balanced high that can be used during the day and night. Your head will stay clear and functional while you’ll still have enough physical energy to stay productive.

Strain Flavor & Aroma

In a world of uber-high THC levels and plenty of strains fighting for that top spot, Orange Creamsicle is directed towards a different goal. It aims to be one of the most flavorful and aromatic cannabis strains available.

It’s not trying to compete with Deisel or Skunk varieties for the pungent essences. Instead, it builds on the sweet and tangy flavor profiles of its ancestors and creates a cannabis strain rich in the essences of vanilla and citrus, reminiscent of the orange cream popsicles you’ve probably been enjoying since childhood!

It is known to be rich in Terpinolene, Myrcene, and Caryophyllene. Some phenotypes test high in Limonene as well, which isn’t surprising with the citrus essence apparent in this bud.

Terpinolene provides the consumer with uplifting feelings.

Myrcene creates a relaxing experience.

Caryophyllene is known to reduce the effects of inflammation.

Limonene is known to reduce the effects of anxiety and stress.

The uplifting and relaxing high that Orange Creamsicle is known for aligns directly with its Terpinolene and Myrcene content.

The Caryophyllene and Limonene content can also create medicinal uses for this sweet, fruit marijuana strain.

Final Words On The Orange Creamsicle Weed Strain

While not the most potent pot strain available, Orange Creamsicle has no shortages of flavor and aroma. The balanced high and the moderate levels of THC make this a great strain for everyone who doesn’t have an excessively high tolerance to THC.

It’s also a high-yielding weed strain that can bless growers with ample amounts of bud. Sometimes you just have to get in where you fit in, and the Orange Creamsicle strain is sure to have fans coming back for more.
