Pink Lemonade Strain

Whether or not this hybrid marijuana strain is more indica or sativa may still be up for debate after this Pink Lemonade strain review. Some dispensaries label it as an indica and others say it is a sativa. The plant grows like an indica but the experience seems more like a sativa. Let’s just call it a hybrid for now!

Other than the confusion of its species heritage, Pink Lemonade is quite popular. Here at CTU, we ensure that we review the best strains and even those that are not well-known so our readers and students are more informed than the average cannabis consumer or industry employee.

Enough talk, let’s take a sip of some Pink Lemonade!

Pink Lemonade Strain Genetics

Pink Lemonade is the result of crossing Lemon Skunk and Purple Kush. As mentioned, whether it leans indica or sativa is quite the mystery, as is the original breeder(s).

Lemon Skunk is the result of crossing two separate phenotypes of Skunk that both displayed lemon-like aromas and flavors. DNA Genetics produced this wonderful phenotype that has become quite popular in its own right.

Purple Kush is the product of the Oakland, California area and is the indica-leaning hybrid that results from crossing Hindu Kush and Purple Afghani. The landrace genetics run deep in this strain that produces a long-lasting sedating experience.

Prospective growers will have better luck locating verified genetic clones of Pink Lemonade instead of feminized seeds. The seeds that you’ll find online are usually different strains with the same name. Don’t fall for the same name! Do your research to verify the heritage of the seeds you buy.

Since feminized seeds aren’t as easy to find as they might become soon, there aren’t many child-strains that have utilized the Pink Lemonade genetics to create new strains. One child-strain that uses Pink Lemonade is called The CBG Blend.

The Green Rose bred Pink Lemonade, Black Cherry Soda, GG4, and Ace Of Spades to create this rare offspring cannabis strain. You probably haven’t heard of this one yet, unless you are in the Washington region where this strain is a local hit.

Growing Yield

Pink Lemonade grows like an indica with dense vegetation and short plants. They respond best to low-stress training techniques. Prune excessive leaves to improve airflow and light exposure, no matter if you grow indoors or outdoors.

The indoor yield per square foot of plant seems very impressive, with harvest between 2-3 ounces per square foot. However, you have to take into account that these bushy plants don’t spread far, or even wide.

Outdoor grows featuring Pink Lemonade can expect around 12-18 ounces of bud per plant, which is much more modest than the indoor yield might lead you to believe.

Pink Lemonade Strain Flowering Time

Pink Lemonade has a relatively quick flowering cycle, finishing up in 8 weeks. Outdoor operations can expect to harvest mature Pink Lemonade plants in late September. This is a good thing since wet weather and lower temperatures can cause mold and mildew in dense indica-like plants.

The buds appear bright and fitting for the Pink Lemonade name. Bright green nugs are covered in light orange hairs. Below the hairs are the trichomes that appear slightly golden. The light appearance of the bud seems just like its Pink Lemonade namesake. If only we could get some hues of pink in there for good measure!

THC Percentage

Pink Lemonade will typically test between 17-22% THC, which amounts to a nicely potent marijuana strain. It’s not going to be so overpowering like many dankensteins that continue to pop up in dispensaries all over the nation. Instead, the experience will be quite enjoyable and rewarding.

The experience seems much more like a sativa than an indica. The mostly cerebral high starts with a boost of energy that intertwines euphoria and focus. The focus and energy will soon fade into a dazey state that can also lead to enhanced creativity.

It won’t send you off the deep end, induce couch-lock, or put you to sleep unless you have a low tolerance to THC. Most will be able to enjoy a smoke session of Pink Lemonade throughout the day without vegging out.

Pink Lemonade Strain Flavor & Aroma

It would be irresponsible for a ganja strain to be called Pink Lemonade with detectable notes of lemon and grapefruit in the essence. Luckily, this one meets expectations. Earthy berry and sour citrus fill the aroma and the flavor is a nice blend of sweet and tart fruits and citrus.

While it is dominated by Pinene, it also is rich in Myrcene and Caryophyllene.

Pinene is great for treating pain, inflammation, and anxiety and is found in the best medicinal marijuana strains.

Myrcene is great for inducing relaxation and is probably responsible for the cloudy state that Pink Lemonade melts into.

Caryophyllene brings spice in its essence and helps fight inflammation in the body. It’s also unique in that it acts on our endocannabinoid systems like the cannabinoids in marijuana do.

Medical Conditions This Pot Strain Can Help

Medical consumers will love Pink Lemonade for relieving the symptoms of the following conditions:
