CBD isolate has become popular among new and seasoned users due to its high CBD potency and non-intoxicating effects.

Learn how to use CBD isolate effectively and safely. We’ll help you find the best way to enjoy its health benefits.

What is CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate is a type of cannabis concentrate containing 99% cannabidiol (CBD), a primary cannabinoid in the cannabis plant known for its non-intoxicating and mellow effects. Unlike other concentrates, this one usually doesn't have other cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids. It’s pure CBD goodness.

For comparison, full-spectrum CBD products contain an entire range of cannabis compounds, including cannabinoids and terpenes. CBD isolates only contain CBD.

While the CBD compound has many health benefits, a full-spectrum CBD product can produce “the entourage effect” where all compounds work together to create an enhanced experience.

Broad-spectrum CBD is similar to full-spectrum CBD but does not contain any THC.

CBD isolate is primarily made from hemp, a variety of the cannabis plant that contains under 0.3% THC, the cannabinoid known for its intoxicating effects.

During the production process, processors produce CBD isolate by removing everything, including waxes, fats, and lipids, leaving behind pure CBD crystals.

Different Types of CBD Isolate

All pure CBD isolate products should not contain THC. CBD isolate is available in many forms. Each has its pros and cons.

CBD Isolate Powder

CBD isolate powder has a powdery consistency and white color. CBD powder is a versatile product for use via several consumption methods, ranging from adding it to food and drinks to including it in your hemp flower joints.

CBD Isolate Liquid

CBD isolate liquid comes in a liquid form just like CBD oil and can be added to meals or ingested orally on its own. CBD isolate liquid doesn’t usually work in vaporizers due to its oily consistency.

The carrier oil in the CBD isolate helps keep its liquid consistency and improves its bioavailability as it goes through the digestive system.

Terpsolate

In some cases, cannabis processors will mix CBD isolate with cannabis-derived terpenes, creating a terpene-infused isolate known as terpsolate. This gives the product more aroma and flavor and gives you the health benefits of terpenes.

Slab

CBD isolate derived from full-spectrum concentrates can come in a slab form. A CBD isolate slab can be broken down into smaller pieces for dabbing, vaping, or smoking.

How to Use CBD Isolate

What is the best way to consume CBD isolate? Using CBD isolate is easy and relatively safe. There's more than one way to enjoy CBD isolate benefits, depending on your lifestyle and needs.

Note: The optimal CBD isolate dosage varies by person and depends on the desired effect, metabolism, CBD tolerance, and other genetic and environmental factors. Learn how to find the perfect dose in our blog resource.

Vape/Dab CBD Isolate

Dabbing or vaping CBD isolate in a dab pen or dab rig is a great way to experience the effects in minutes. The effects can last between 2 to 3 hours. If needed, you can add terpenes to your CBD isolate. Don't add too many terpenes since it can produce a harsh hit.

Add CBD Isolate to Hemp Flower

Enhance the potency of your hemp flower joint or bowl by sprinkling in pure CBD isolate inside or coating your joints with CBD isolate liquid for an out-of-this-world experience.

Infuse CBD Isolate Into Food and Drinks

Since CBD isolate is odorless and flavorless, it is a great concentrate to infuse into your favorite food or drink. CBD isolate can go in your morning cup of coffee or tea, smoothie, baked goods, or soups. Avoid heating the isolate for too long since it can reduce its potency.

Apply CBD Isolate to Your Skin

Did you know you can apply CBD isolate to your skin? You can make CBD topicals at home. All you need to do is mix it with a high-fat carrier oil to increase its bioavailability on your skin. Feel free to add any other essential oils to improve the smell. Carrier oils include olive and hemp seed oil or MCT oil.

Make CBD Isolate Capsules

Want an easy and discreet way to enjoy CBD isolate? Infuse CBD isolate into capsules in consistent doses to take them wherever you are. Store your CBD isolate capsules in a cool, dry, and dark space to improve their shelf life.

Apply CBD Isolate Under Your Tongue

One of the best ways to enjoy CBD isolate is to take it sublingually. Apply CBD isolate under your tongue and hold it there for about 60 seconds allowing the cannabinoid to absorb in the mucous membranes. This is a fast-acting way to get the CBD into your bloodstream by bypassing the digestive system and liver, which can reduce bioavailability.

Making the Most of CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is the perfect concentrate for those who want to reap the maximum benefits of CBD and none of the intoxicating properties of THC. While this product won't provide the beneficial effects of cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids, it is an excellent alternative for those that need a pure form of CBD.
