When must individuals receive the training from a Responsible Vendor?
Every agent must complete an Illinois Cannabis RVT program within 90 days of being hired by an Illinois cannabis operator. Training received outside of the 90-day window will not meet the training requirement imposed by Section 15-40(i) of the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.

How often must individuals receive training from a Responsible Vendor?
Illinois Responsible Vendor Training Requirements state that training must be received annually.
Is there homework and a schedule?
No! In this IDFPR-approved program, there is no homework and no schedule. During your access period, you can learn at the most convenient time, at your own pace, anywhere in the world that has internet access!
Are there quizzes and tests?
Yes. To be an IDFPR approved vendor it is a requirement to have these items. To pass, you will need to score an 70% or higher. However, there is no limit on the number of times you can take the quizzes and test along the way. Who needs to receive training from a Responsible Vendor in the state of Illinois?
Are all Principal Officers required to receive training from a Responsible Vendor?
In effect, if a principal officer is also an agent who handles or sells cannabis, they must receive the training based on their status as an agent. Principal officers alone, however, do not need to receive the IL RVT.
Remember, however, that all agents, including all Principal Officers, must meet the 8-hour training requirement found in Section 15-65(a)(5) of the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.
What happens after I complete Responsible Vendor Training?
Your proof of completion will also be made available to the State of Illinois and dispensing organization.
Are Responsible Vendor Trainers licensed by the Department?
