Every state has specific rules, regulations and guidelines to receiving a cannabis cultivation license. In other words, it depends on which state you live in. Licensing is a significant step to getting in the cannabis cultivation business.

It means that you can put in an application for either of the following:

• Cultivation license
• Retail License
• Research license
• Transportation license

In some states, you may be able to apply for more than one of these licenses. In some states, you can only apply for one at a time.

Building the Essential Team

One thing that is the most significant is building an amazing cannabis cultivation team. Make sure that the team has good commercial experience and not just from a basement grow operating model.

For this reason, each team member should have a good understanding and knowledge of cannabis cultivation and horticulture on a commercial level.

On your team, there should be someone who knows a lot about marijuana licenses and permits. You also need someone that knows how to build the facility or how to choose the right facility for doing business according to the required regulations.

A good attorney will be another essential addition to the team.  Make sure the attorney is given the license application and other legal documents to review before submitting.

When the assessment and process is done, a felony record could make or break the team and decline your application for a cannabis cultivation license.
