Skywalker OG Strain

In this Skywalker OG strain review, we’ll take a look at a wonderful strain that is well suited towards outdoor growing.

While many new-age strains prefer to be babied in indoor environments, Skywalker OG thrives outdoors and produces wonderful buds that will please growers and consumers alike!

Skywalker OG Strain Genetics

Is Skywalker OG strain an indica or sativa?

Skywalker OG is an 85/15 indica dominant strain that is the result of crossing Skywalker Kush and OG Kush.

Skywalker Kush

Skywalker Kush, sometimes known simply as Skywalker, is a cross of Blueberry and Mazar. Dutch Passion Seeds put these two strains together to reap the traits of Blueberry bud with the growing potential and strength of Mazar.

It offers a decent head high but the focal point is physical relaxation that can melt into sedation.

Skywalker has also spawned White Walker Kush, a cross with White Widow. If you prefer a more energizing strain than Skywalker OG with traits from Skywalker, try this one out.

OG Kush

OG Kush is quite possibly the most popular cannabis strain to come from the west coast. It has a myriad of phenotypes that are famous around the country as well, including SFV OG, Ghost OG, and Tahoe OG.

It has spawned plenty of famous strains as well, including Bubba Kush, Girl Scout Cookies, and Headband. If you haven’t tried OG Kush you almost certainly have tried one of the many strains that were derived from this classic!

Availability Of Skywalker OG Genetics

Skywalker OG is available as feminized seeds and clones. This strain is a teat for outdoor growers, so if that is how you grow your medical cannabis, you must try Skywalker OG in the garden!

Skywalker OG Strain Yield

Skywalker OG stretches as it grows more than the typical indica, making it the perfect candidate for growing outdoors in warm and sunny environments. The plants can stretch beyond 6 feet in height, but they can still be trained in indoor settings.

Indoor yields are known to average around 3-6 ounces of bud per square foot, while outdoor plants can produce at least 16 ounces. You can easily harvest more than this by optimizing the growing medium, nutrient availability, and plant care through the vegetative and flowering cycles.

Flowering Time

10 weeks will be needed for the Skywalker OG flowers to mature fully. This will allow the terpenes to develop fully and the cannabinoid content to reach maximum levels. After harvest, curing and storage play a large role in the quality of the flower.

The olive green buds are medium-sized. The orange hairs twist among the buds while the milky-white trichomes sparkle. The sweet and sticky resin is abundant on the flower.

Skywalker OG Strain THC Percentage

Skywalker OG tests between 19-26% THC. While there are accounts of it testing up to 30%, but this isn’t common. It is best suited for usage in the evening, as the relaxing high that induces couch-lock can quickly turn to sedation.

The high is stoney and heavy, inducing couch-lock and a serious case of the munchies. You might as well turn on a good movie and have snacks on hand because that’s all you need before you eventually fall asleep! Like Gruntz strain, Skywalker OG is a potent strain.

Flavor & Aroma

The aroma and flavor of Skywalker OG are much like what the Kush lineage has to offer, with more influence from the fuel essence. Spicy and sweet is a good way to explain what Skywalker OG offers.

Terpene Profile

Myrcene, Limonene, and Caryophyllene are rich in Skywalker OG.

Myrcene is helpful when treating insomnia, pain, and inflammation and it acts as an antioxidant. It is rich in strains like Blue Dream and Granddaddy Purple.

Limonene may be used to treat anxiety, pain, inflammation, depression, and cancer. Strawberry Banana and Wedding Cake are popular examples of Limonene-rich strains.

Caryophyllene can be used to treat pain, anxiety, depression, ulcers, and all sorts of inflammation. GSC and Purple Punch are rich in this spicy terpene.

If you like what you have read about Skywalker OG but can’t seem to find any bud in stock, try weed strains with similar effects and terpenes, like Kobe OG, Aurora Borealis, and Fire OG.
