Grow facts
Grow facts come from the breeder first, then seed banks and strain databases. With 2 sources we show the range and the middle; with 3 or more, the range and the median, after leaving out values far from the rest. The breeder's own value is the anchor, unless it is far from every other source (outside their range and more than 20% from their median); then we show the full range and the median of all of them. A fact from a single source is marked "1 source", and a fact no source lists is left out. Yields are converted to one unit: indoor per square meter, outdoor per plant.
CTU writes every profile from these facts; we do not copy other sites' descriptions. Values that are a generic default in the source data are left out. Last checked Oct 21, 2026.

SFV OG is a sativa-dominant hybrid bred by Cali Connection Farms. It has a distinctive pine and lemon aroma, and reported THC levels vary widely between phenotypes. This strain performs best in dry, warm climates and is valued by growers for its dense bud structure and moderate height. Its manageable stretch and high resin production set it apart for growers seeking both quality and yield in controlled environments.
The high from SFV OG begins with a focused and uplifting cerebral onset that enhances mental clarity and motivation, lasting around 2-3 hours. As the experience evolves, a balanced relaxation spreads through the body without heavy sleepiness, suitable for daytime use. Harvesting slightly earlier with mostly cloudy trichomes helps maintain an energetic effect, while a later harvest with more amber hues deepens the body relaxation. Overall, the effect is balanced and enjoyable for several hours.
Opening the jar reveals earthy and pine aromas layered with bright lemon and citrus notes, characteristic of its terpene profile. On inhale, sharp lemon and pine dominate, providing a fresh and slightly tangy flavor. The exhale finishes with woody and earthy undertones, creating a complex and satisfying taste. Proper curing enhances the citrus brightness and smoothness of the smoke, reducing harshness and preserving terpene integrity.
SFV OG grows well both indoors and outdoors but thrives in dry, warm climates with Mediterranean characteristics. Indoors, maintain temperatures around 70-75 deg F during veg and lower slightly to 68-72 deg F in flower to preserve terpene profiles. Relative humidity should be 50-60% in veg, drop to 45-50% in early flower, and further reduce to 40-45% in late flower to prevent mold in its dense colas. Outdoors, it prefers dry conditions and will mature by early October. Start topping at day 21 of veg to manage its moderate stretch and encourage bushier growth; employ SCROG during week 2 of flower to optimize light penetration and canopy uniformity. Begin feeding with an EC of 0.8, increasing by 0.2 weekly to a peak of 1.4 by week 4 of flower, then taper gradually to 1.0 near harvest to avoid nutrient burn due to moderate sensitivity. Light intensity should target 400 µmol/m²/s during veg and 700 µmol/m²/s in flower, as the plant tolerates moderate to high PPFD without stress. Harvest when trichomes are mostly cloudy with around 10% amber to balance uplifting and relaxing effects. Dense bud structure requires strong airflow and late-flower humidity control to prevent mold. Canopy management including defoliation during week 4 of flower improves air circulation and light exposure, ensuring higher yields and resin production.
SFV OG's moderate stretch and high resin production require early training such as topping by week 3 and SCROG in flower to optimize canopy and preserve terpene-rich resin. Its dense buds demand vigilant airflow and humidity control to prevent mold during late flower stages.
Indoor growers using topping and SCROG methods will benefit from SFV OG's strong training response and manageable stretch. Growers in dry, warm climates will find it rewarding outdoors due to its preference for low humidity and heat tolerance. Additionally, cultivators seeking a strain with high resin production and dense buds for extract quality will appreciate its characteristics.
Compared to OG Kush, SFV OG has a slightly lower THC range but offers a more balanced effect with a distinct citrus aroma. Unlike Afghani, which is indica-dominant and sleepy, SFV OG is sativa-leaning and uplifting. Motorbreath tends to have a stronger yield and denser buds, whereas SFV OG provides a moderate yield with easier canopy management.
Reported THC levels for SFV OG vary widely between phenotypes, growers and labs, so we don't list a single figure. If you're buying it, check the lab-tested THC on the product label.
SFV OG is a sativa-dominant hybrid with a balanced effect that leans toward uplifting and focused sensations rather than heavy sleepiness.
SFV OG typically flowers within 8 to 9 weeks. Growers should monitor trichomes closely starting at week 6 to harvest at optimal potency and desired effect balance.
SFV OG is considered beginner-friendly to intermediate in difficulty. It responds well to common training methods like topping and SCROG, but requires attention to humidity and airflow due to its dense buds.
The flavor profile of SFV OG features prominent pine and earthy notes with bright lemon and citrus undertones. Proper curing enhances these flavors, making for a smooth and complex smoking experience.
