Grow facts
Grow facts come from the breeder first, then seed banks and strain databases. With 2 sources we show the range and the middle; with 3 or more, the range and the median, after leaving out values far from the rest. The breeder's own value is the anchor, unless it is far from every other source (outside their range and more than 20% from their median); then we show the full range and the median of all of them. A fact from a single source is marked "1 source", and a fact no source lists is left out. Yields are converted to one unit: indoor per square meter, outdoor per plant.
CTU writes every profile from these facts; we do not copy other sites' descriptions. Values that are a generic default in the source data are left out. Last checked Oct 21, 2026.
Source: CTU strain dataset (public strain listings and breeder info, checked by CTU), verified Oct 2026. Potency, flavor and effects vary by grower, batch and plant. Facts no source lists are left out.
No breeder or public listing gives grow facts such as flowering time or plant height for Zushi yet. The Growing course covers the full method for any strain, from seed to cure.
Zushi is an indica-dominant hybrid bred by Ten Co through crossing Original Z and Kush Mints, boasting a THC level around 24%. It stands out for its dense, resin-rich buds and a growth pattern that requires careful canopy management due to moderate stretch. This strain appeals to growers who value robust resin production and a manageable flowering period.
The high from Zushi initiates with a clear-headed focus that gradually energizes the user, peaking with an aroused and alert state. Over a 2-3 hour period, the experience transitions into a relaxed calm, avoiding heavy sleepiness. Harvesting when trichomes are mostly cloudy enhances the uplifting quality, while a later harvest increases body relaxation.
Upon opening the jar, Zushi presents a pungent chemical aroma layered with blue cheese and diesel notes. The inhale is sharp with a tangy citrus hint, followed by a savory exhale dominated by earthy and cheesy undertones. Proper curing accentuates these complex flavors, balancing the sharpness with creamy richness.
Zushi performs well both indoors and outdoors, though environmental control indoors allows for optimizing its resin production and dense bud development. Indoor growers should employ topping during week 3 of veg to encourage bushier growth and SCROG in week 1 of flower to manage moderate stretch and maximize light penetration. Outdoor cultivation benefits from dry, warm climates, with early season planting to avoid humidity spikes. Maintain relative humidity at 50-60% during week 1 through week 4 of veg, reducing to 40-45% by week 6 of flower to prevent mold in dense buds. Temperatures should range between 70-78 deg F in veg and drop to 65-70 deg F during week 7 of flower to enhance resin quality. Feed conservatively starting at 0.8 EC in week 1 of veg, ramping up to 1.4 EC by week 4 of flower, tapering off in the final two weeks. Target PPFD levels of 400-600 µmol/m²/s in veg, increasing to 700-900 µmol/m²/s from week 2 to week 6 of flower to support dense, resinous colas. Harvest when trichomes are mostly cloudy with about 10% amber for balanced effects. To optimize yield, maintain airflow and apply defoliation in week 5 of flower to expose lower bud sites, addressing the high bud density and mold sensitivity.
Zushi's moderate stretch during early flower necessitates topping before week 4 to maintain an even canopy and prevent light loss beneath dense buds. Its high bud density increases mold risk, making airflow and humidity control critical especially from week 6 onward.
Indoor growers using topping and SCROG techniques to manage moderate stretch and maximize resin production will find Zushi rewarding. Growers in dry, warm climates will benefit from its outdoor resilience and high yield potential, especially those experienced in humidity control during late flower.
Compared to Zkittlez, Zushi has a higher THC level and denser buds but requires more careful humidity management. Against Kush Mints, Zushi flowers slightly faster and offers a more energetic effect profile. Blue Zushi, a descendant, typically shows even greater resin production and a sweeter flavor profile, reflecting further breeding refinements.
Zushi typically has a THC content around 24%, placing it in the higher potency range among hybrid strains. This level contributes to its clear yet energizing effects, making it suitable for experienced users seeking strong effects without full sleepiness.
Zushi is an indica-dominant hybrid derived from Original Z and Kush Mints. Its genetic background leans towards indica traits, which influence its dense bud structure and calming physical effects while maintaining some uplifting qualities.
The flowering period for Zushi ranges from 7 to 8 weeks, with a total grow time of approximately 12 to 14 weeks including vegetative growth. This timeframe allows growers to plan harvests and manage environmental conditions accordingly.
Zushi is best suited for intermediate to advanced growers due to its moderate stretch, high bud density, and sensitivity to humidity. Successful cultivation requires attention to training methods and environmental control, particularly in late flowering stages to prevent mold.
Zushi's flavor profile is dominated by chemical and blue cheese notes with an underlying diesel aroma. The taste combines sharp citrus hints on inhale with savory earthy and cheesy flavors on the exhale, which intensify when properly cured.
