Zkittlez Weed Strain Genetics

Bred by Colorado’s 3rd Gen Family and Terp Hogz, Zkittlez is a cross between strains Grape Ape, Grapefruit, and a super secret strain. Its popularity shot up starting in 2016, but had been building up for the previous five years.

Its grape and grapefruit scents mix perfectly with the mystery strain’s fuel-like aroma.

At first, the breeders weren’t too proud of its looks, but the strain more than made up for it with tons of tropical candy terpenes and a rush of euphoric effects.

They passed around the strain in joints to avoid presenting a lackluster bag appeal.

Today, it’s used by many breeders to produce a long list of sweet and fruity strains.

Flavor & Taste

Much like its namesake, Zkittlez features a punchy candy flavor with hints of tropical fruits. You’ll taste the sweet and tangy flavor of oranges mixed with the refreshing and earthy pine taste.

On the other end of its flavor spectrum, you’ll notice a distinct floral and diesel tang that finishes off with a citric punch.

Aroma & Smell

Zkittlez’ complex terpene profile contributes to its alluring and pleasant aroma. Expect hints of pepper, hops, and floral notes along with a sweet syrupy aroma. While not exactly “loud” with aroma, it has the perfect ratio of terpenes to tickle your senses.

Linalool’s floral scent mixes with the hoppy humulene, citrus-scented limonene, earthy myrcene, piney pinene, orange-y nerolidol, and fuel-like terpinolene.

Effects

Zkittlez strain

For an indica, Zkittlez delivers a surprising amount of euphoria. It has a fast onset characterized by intense physical relaxation and stress relief.

You won’t feel any of the couchlock or hyper-activity that can overwhelm new or low-tolerance users. Instead, you’ll feel a pleasant wave of calm, focus, and bliss.

Zkittlez is the prime example of how a high level of terpenes can influence the experience. High-THC levels aren’t the only compounds to look for in your weed.

Terpenes play an important part in the entourage effect that minimizes the negative side effects of the intoxicating THC. THC can get you high, but its terpenes can keep that high on a balanced level. Ideally, you want to enjoy this strain with a mellow activity.

As a balanced hybrid, Zkittlez is the perfect strain to relax your mind and body. Unwind after work with its calming effects. This indica hybrid, in particular, has been used by medical patients for its innate ability to ease anxiety, chronic stress, and depression.

In many cases, Zkittlez also provides mild-to-moderate pain and nausea relief.

Feelings: Relaxed, Happy, Euphoric, Uplifted, Sleepy

Appearance

Zkittlez’ buds stem from a large cola and heavy branches. Like most other indica hybrids, Zkittlez’ small-to-moderately-sized buds are dense, bulky, and round.

Featuring bright green bracts, this indica hybrid is nearly covered with rusty-colored pistil hairs. A heavy dusting of white trichomes are the keepers of its high-terpene count.

How to Grow Zkittlez

Zkittlez seeds are only available as feminized seeds, not regular. It's able to grow just as well indoors as it does outdoors. Outdoor growers, however, have noticed more robust terpene flavors and yield under optimal conditions.

Zkittlez is a hardy strain that’s resistant to high humidity and mold. That makes it the perfect strain to grow for beginners. Expect to grow a short plant with high yields.

Infused Use & Therapeutic Potential of Zkittlez
