Gelatti Strain Genetics

Known for breeding cannabis strains with dessert-like aromas, Cookies Fam bred another terpene-rich marijuana hybrid by crossing Gelato and Biscotti to produce a strain known as Gelatti. Gelatti is a balanced hybrid of indica and sativa genetics, creating a blissful and calming experience for those who enjoy other Cookie strains like GSC or Thin Mint GSC.

Gelato

Gelato is a balanced cannabis hybrid strain made by crossing the ever-popular strains Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint GSC, which is the proprietary phenotype of Girl Scout Cookies. Gelato has an average THC concentration of 16%, a moderate amount relative to the range of THC percentages found in cannabis.

Consumers of Gelato rave about the fruity essence resembling a scrumptious dessert. Gelato providesphysical relaxation while still allowing for the mental aptitude to remain functional and productive. That means you won’t feel disoriented, fatigued, or confused when taking low to moderate doses of Gelato.

Biscotti

Biscotti is a child-strain of South Florida OG and Gelato. Known for its sweet and fuel-like aroma and denseflower buds flooded with trichomes, Biscotti is another Cookies Fam exclusive marijuana strain. Biscotti has an average THC concentration of 22% and 2% CBG.

Biscotti is an indica-dominant hybrid that provides users with a rush of blissful feelings. Users can expect to feel calm, creative, and productive. It is often used by medical cannabis patients to provide relief for symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress. Biscotti’s effects are slow-acting so wait until you feel the effects before taking additional doses.

Gelatti Strain Seeds

The Cookies Fam breeding group keeps their genetics under wraps and aims to control the market for their strains to keep the genetic quality high. This may be because GSC exploded in popularity, and they claim that the majority of the GSC products on the market are frauds and not approved by the Cookies Family.

For this reason, Gelatti won’t be found at a lot of dispensaries or nurseries, especially outside of California. Cannabis consumers will pay a pretty penny to get this exotic ganja strain outside of the California market, and prospective cannabis growers will have little-to-no luck finding authentic seeds and growing Gelatti at the moment. Needless to say, Gelatti is a rare hybrid designer strain, although it may become more widely available in the future.

If you do happen to find Gelatti seeds or clones, there is a high chance that they are illegitimate and not from the Cookies Fam. For example, Cookies Fam claims that most GSC strains on the market that didn’t directly come from them are either grown from stray seeds that ended up in purchased flower buds or clones from different lineages altogether.

If there is that much uncertainty about the uber-popular GSC, we know that the chances of finding authentic growing stock for Gelatti is next-to-impossible. This particular indica-dominant strain can be a challenge to find. However, it is possible to find Gelatti packs of seeds online.

Gelatti Strain Yield

Gelatti Strain Yield

As mentioned above, this exotic strain isn’t commonly found in most seed banks or in nurseries that sell cannabisclones. Cookies Fam is keeping their proprietary cannabis strains to themselves to avoid a quality drop from different growers. Cannabis strains can vary in quality depending on the genetics and growing conditions.

This strain is known to produce small-to-medium flower buds that are as dense as can be. The buds come out light green with a touch of purple if the grower exposed the early flowering plants to cold enough temperatures. Cold temperatures allow anthocyanin pigments in certain strains to give them a colorful hue as the green chlorophyll pigments break down.

The trichomes appear denser than in most other marijuana strains, creating a higher potency that you can literally seewith a microscope! Gelatti packs a wallop of a yield if grown properly. Since not much growing information is available on the Gelatti strain, it may be more difficult to grow for new growers.

Gelatti Strain Flowering Time

Gelatti Strain Flowering Time

One can only make guesses at this point about the best way of growing Gelatti. Again, you aren’t going to score some legitimate Gelatti seeds or clones to grow your own at the time being, unless you know a grower who has authentic Gelatti genetics.

But, since it’s a balanced hybrid of indica and sativa, educated guesses can be made about its flowering time. The flowering time for similar strains is typically around 7-9 weeks for this marijuana strain.

Gelatti Strain THC Percentage

Gelatti Strain THC Percentage

Gelatti is a potent and rare strain of ganja, clocking in at around 20-23% THC, a relatively high percentage compared to other cannabis strains. It’s known as a quick-hitter with fast-acting effects and a balanced high that hits from the first exhale. Consumers note a state of relaxation drenched over the body while the mind stays agile enough to function and be productive and creative.

This mental energy that Gelatti produces, alongside the physical relaxation, makes it a good daytime bud for those that need to be productive during a tough day. It’s perfect for relaxing and refocusing to keep trucking along any time of day. As a hybrid designer strain, Gelatti can be very potent. THC levels of Gelatti are on the stronger side for weed strains. The average THC levels over the past four decades has grown immensely.

For first-time or low-tolerance users, we recommend starting with a low dose of Gelatti and waiting about 10 minutes to assess how you feel. If you feel like you need a little more relief, take another puff and wait an additional 10 minutes to determine how you feel. It can take a bit of trial-and-error to determine the perfect dose without experiencing adverse effects.

Taste & Aroma of the Gelatti Strain

This exotic bud strain is touted for its strong gassy and musky OG essence in terms of aroma and flavor. Smokers, vapers, and dabbers will also enjoy the sweet aftertaste from the Gelato heritage on the exhale. Those who enjoy classic breeds of OG strains will rave over Gelatti’s flavor and aroma. Gelatti has a gassy OG with a distinct Gelato aroma. Aromas of Gelatti feature notes of berries and pungent earth.

Gelatti tastes like mint and sweet and sour fruit. We recommend using low temperatures in a vaporizer or dab rig to best enjoy Gelatti’s flavorful and aromatic terpenes. Low temperatures avoid combusting the heat-sensitive terpenes.

The terpene profile in Gelatti strains is unique as well. It is rich in Caryophyllene, Linalool, Ocimene, Terpinolene, and Limonene terpenes.

Caryophyllene

Caryophyllene is one of the most commonly found terpenes in the cannabis plant. It has a spicy and pungent aroma.

Linalool

Linalool is a floral-smelling terpene believed to aid in relaxation.

Ocimene

Ocimene isn’t prominent in many cannabis strains, but it can aid in the pungent essence and help boost energy levels.

Terpinolene

Terpinolene has uplifting effects to boost the user’s mood.

Limonene

Limonene helps to reduce the effects of anxiety and stress.

These three terpenes create a blend that makes Gelatti useful for daytime use when you need to relax and settle into a project. The physical relaxation may come from the THC potency while the terpenes aid the mental boost consumers experience. Some users complain of dry mouth from smoking Gelatti strain. Some don’t like the gassy OG effect.

Medical Conditions Gelatti Strain Can Help

Gelatti is too new to have a big place in the medicinal marijuana market, but it does seem to help an array of conditions. Here are some of the conditions that users use Gelatti marijuana strain for:
