Values are the short status lines shown on our state law map. A blank cell means we have not confirmed that value on an official government source yet; the note column says which.

How we check it

  • Every value comes from the CTU state cannabis law dataset (last full import September 28, 2026) and is checked against an official government page: a state agency, the state legislature or code site, or a federal source.
  • Values confirmed only by advocacy groups, encyclopedias or private law sites are left blank. Statutes are cited to the state’s own site, never to a private copy.
  • Each state has a last_checked date. Our state pages show the official source for every fact and a “Last reviewed” date.
  • Reviewed at least quarterly. Next reviews: January 4, April 5, July 6 and October 4, 2027. Each review re-opens every official source behind the file, confirms or corrects each value, logs every change and updates last_checked. States are also re-checked when a new law takes effect (for example the federal hemp change on December 11, 2026).
