If you like fruity strains that give you an energy boost, read this Pineapple Haze strain review. This tropical ganja strain is a classic example of a wake and bake weed strain that will help you get the ball rolling for the day ahead.

A heavy indica that causes relaxation and sedation simply isn’t the pot strain for that job! But, Pineapple Haze is.

Pineapple Haze Strain Genetics

Is Pineapple Haze strain an Indica or Sativa?

Pineapple Haze is a 70/30 sativa-dominant hybrid marijuana strain that results from crossing Pineapple and Haze. It’s quite possibly the best of what each parent strain has to offer!

Pineapple

While Haze is certainly one of the more energizing strains known, Pineapple offers an energizing experience in its own right. The rich essence of pineapples and diesel offered by Pineapple has led to it being used by multiple breeders who seek to deliver that essence into other genetics.

Pineapple Chunk and Pineapple Kush are two notable child strains of Pineapple. Both of them are rich in the pineapple essence of their parent strain, with Pineapple Chunk also offering a skunky cheese essence that compliments tropical fruit very well.

Haze

Haze took what multiple landraces had to offer and transformed it into one of the most transcendent families of cannabis strains. Haze is known for its sometimes racy energizing experience that has been bred into countless child-strains.

Haze itself is an old-school strain, but new-age strains have a lot to owe to Haze. For example, both Blue Dream and Jack Herer are child strains of Haze. What the cannabis industry would look like if Haze never came to be would be quite a different landscape than it is now!

Availability of Pineapple Haze Genetics

Pineapple Haze has been around for quite some time, which means plenty of breeders have access to these genetics. Luckily, many digital seed banks carry feminized seeds for prospective growers. There are quite a few nurseries that offer Pineapple Haze clones if that’s the route you’d like to take as well.

It should be noted that other strains use this name but feature different genetics. If you want the Pineapple Haze that is a cross of Pineapple and Haze, ensure that is the lineage you are purchasing.

Derivative Strains

No notable child strains have been created using this version of Pineapple Haze surprisingly. With the availability of seeds and clones, this is bound to change at some point. Breeders seeking a Haze influence experience and a Pineapple essence can look to cross this with another interesting weed strain.

Pineapple Haze Strain Yield

While Pineapple Haze plants can grow quite tall, like upwards of 8 feet, the yields aren’t all that impressive when compared to the plant size. Like many sativas, the buds just don’t stand up to the large size and density that indicas have to offer.

Growing indoors is possible with topping, trimming, and training and yields are known to be around 0.9-1.7 ounces per square foot of plant. Outdoor yields where the plants can grow as large as possible can be upwards of 17 ounces of bud per plant.

Flowering Time

Pineapple Haze has quite a long flowering time, much like Haze itself. It requires 10-12 weeks to reach full maturity, meaning outdoor growers will be waiting until early-to-mid November to harvest crops.

The forest green buds are long and dense, although they aren’t known for being larger than average. The orange hairs are sparse among the buds and allow the crystal-like appearance of sparkling trichomes to shine through.

Pineapple Haze Strain THC Percentage

Pineapple Haze has been tested to reach between 13-22% THC. While this isn’t the most potent marijuana strain on the market, it can still get the job done. The experience offered by Pineapple Haze doesn’t require large amounts of THC anyways.

When using a wake and bake strain the last thing you need is ultra-high levels of THC that will induce couch-lock first thing in the morning!

The high hits quickly with a jolt of sudden energy and boost towards motivation and creativity. It’s a great way to get up and get more active as it stimulates physical energy very well. The only physical relaxation promoted is more like a simple pain-reliever than a sedating cannabis experience.

Flavor & Aroma

The aroma of Pineapple Haze is rich in sweet pineapple mixed with earthy pine. The flavor is more of the same, with the additions of citrus and skunk.

Terpene Profile

Myrcene, Terpinolene, and Pinene are the most dominant terpenes found in Pineapple Haze.

Myrcene is known as sedating and relaxing, but these effects aren’t found in Pineapple Haze surprisingly.

Terpinolene is uplifting and energizing, which is much of what this strain has to offer. This terpene must be responsible for overpowering the effects of Myrcene as well.

Pinene promotes feeling alert and improves memory retention while offering relief from pain, inflammation, and anxiety.

If you want more of what Pineapple Haze has to offer, you can find comfort in other strains with similar effects and terpene profiles, such as Agent Orange, Dutch Treat Haze, and Strawberry Cake.

Final Words On The Pineapple Haze Weed Strain

Pineapple Haze stands proud with the many cannabis strains that have spawned from the Haze lineage. Pineapple Haze is almost a carbon copy of Haze, in terms of the experience it offers.

But the pineapple essence that comes along for the ride is a pleasant alternative to what Haze typically has to offer.
